Product Overview
This Wood Shavings Dryer is a drum dryer specifically designed for wood shavings and serves as an essential pre-processing unit in pellet production lines.
Working Principle
Moist wood shavings are fed into the Wood Shavings Dryer drum via a screw feeder. The drum rotates at a low, constant speed, while internal scrapers continuously toss the material, forming a uniform curtain of shavings. High-temperature hot air thoroughly penetrates the material layer to facilitate heat exchange. Thermal energy is fully recovered and recycled for reuse. The shavings are heated gently as they move through the system, preserving their original flake-like shape without being ground into fine powder, resulting in a uniform and consistent color after drying.
Application Fields
Long shavings drying for OSB and plywood factories;
Raw material dewatering pretreatment for biomass pellet plants;
Bamboo scrap drying for bamboo product factories;
Recycling drying for farm straw and fruit residues;
Raw material drying for organic fertilizer production;
Dry fluffy clean wood shavings for pet bedding (hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas, poultry litter).
The Wood Shavings Dryer fits small family workshops, medium factories, large agricultural cooperatives and pet supplies processing plants.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What initial moisture can the Wood Shavings Dryer process, and what final moisture can it reach? Is it suitable for pet bedding?
A1: It can process fresh, moist wood shavings with an initial moisture content of 40%–50%, drying them to a stable moisture content of 8%–15%. The resulting product is loose and free of debris, and its moisture content meets the requirements for the production of pet bedding, pellets, and wood panels.
Q2: Do you provide installation services and operator training?
A2: On-site Services: Our installation technicians can visit your facility to install and commission the equipment, and train your staff on operation and maintenance.
Q3: How to stop wood from splitting when drying?
A3: To prevent wood from splitting during drying, it is essential to control the moisture loss rate. Key strategies include sealing the end grain to slow evaporation, using a gentle drying schedule with controlled temperature and humidity, and ensuring uniform airflow through proper stacking. These measures minimize internal stress and prevent cracking.
